We all know the struggle: finally you make the decision to go there by bike. But you aren’t sure if you can remember the way that will get you there fastest. But cycling with your smartphone in your hand is not that comfortable and easy. Still you decide to do it. But when you climb your bike with your smartphone in your hand, and you have started your navigation, of course someone will call you. Another problem: you had a nice evening but in a Dutch city, where there are bikes everywhere. How do you find your bike again?

What is it?

Now the SmartHalo will be the accessory for your bike to make cycling so much more easy. By using it you will create a smart bike! Something I could use for sure. It navigates you and adds so much more functions to your bike. Such as an alarm system, so your bike won't get stolen. At night it gives you a good light at front. All these functions will be controlled by an app on your smartphone. So when you start your navigation on your phone, you can put your phone safely away and the SmartHalo will guide you to your destination. Beside the navigation, alarm system and light, it also gives you a sign when you get a message or a call. Or you can use the app as a tracing system in case you forgot where you left your bike. Also it shows you your cycling speed, how many calories you have burnt, and even more functions so it looks like a fit app. So it looks like everything we missed on the bike until now.

Why is it cool?

I guess that the ‘why is it cool’ question already has been answered a bit, but why the SmartHalo to my opinion is especially cool is because of all the opportunities of the functions. These are literally the things I really have missed on my bike. So to my opinion this is really a thing that will get more people on their bike.

Future growth potential

I think the smart bike, SmartHalo, will get more and more popular. It will get people on their bike instead of taking the car or the bus. It might have to go lower in price though to get popular amongst the masses.

Trend

This SmartHalo is a part of the trend the internet of things. I It’s yet another way to turn an online-device into a smart-online-device. By that it also fits into the technologisation trend. It brings people online while doing an offline activity, thats why it fits in the trend inline.

The SmartHalo makes activity and development more easy, and it suits the material and psychical wellbeing.
