Warm Stone

At the Graduation show, Dutch Design Week Eindhoven 2015, I have seen a beautifully designed new spa attribute/ object. The material and form took my attention. I even felt a little in l

ove by the design however the function was a guess.

As I read the description the function came clear to me. It is called a ‘Warm Stone’, design by Ken Tchikaya. Simply the stone bed will get hot when you lay down on it. This is a combination of some bathing rituals from around the world, like the Turkish hammam, the Finnish sauna and the Japanese onsen (Ken Tchikaya).

As I said the form, material and design are after my opinion amazing. But that is not the only thing good of the whole object. By relaxing on it, your body and mind will detox from stress. It will encourage your Physical wellbeing and Emotional wellbeing.

The experience of total rest and no stress is something people gasp for and therefore there are a lot of products with fill this need. So the future of the Warm Stone depends on the popularity at the spa’s. When they introduce it, I think ik will be a real hit. And I would like to try this extremely beautiful Warm Stone. And of course it’s my opinion, about the design. Yet even if you think it’s ugly you must want to try this for your relaxation.
