We are all struggling with eating healthy. Even when we think we know what we are buying, we often sit wrong with the nutritional values.

What is it?

A small graph at the bottom of your grocery receipt. By adding this graph you can see on your receipt how many calories, sugar, fat and other nutrition you have in your shopping bag. The designer, Hayden Peek, wants to put people in a different way and place about the information about what the nutritional values of the products are they buy. Because the numbers often will not effect our behavior, the number of fat or calories will be expressed in colors. And that color displays whether nutritional values are too low or too high. This ‘trafic light system’ should encourage people to adopt healthy eating habits. (Adele Peters, 2016) The information on the receipt can help you with finding balance in your food pattern. But what perhaps even the best, is the fact that people who are unaware of their unhealthy eating habits are faced with using this simple graph. They see what the products they bought actually do do for their body and therefore there could be a change in behavior.

Why is ti cool?

It’s cool that our grocery store can help us by getting healthier. Lots of people don’t know that some things their buying actually are not that healthy as they think. It’s nice to get a lot more awareness by such a simple addition.

Future growth potential

Who knows it will in the future contribute to the fight against obesity. Because most obese people are not aware of what they are eating. They care to little and by being confronted it might stet them thinking.

Trend

The ‘trafic light system’ fits in the trend transparency because it’s an open and honest message about your groceries.

Quality of Life

This effects the physical wellbeing.
